Mdm Ng Tze Ling 黄子玲 - HOD Mother Tongue Languages
HOD Mother Tongue Languages, Oasis Primary School
Dip Ed (Pri), BA (Chinese Language and Literature)
Being an educator in the teaching fraternity for 16 years, I had the opportunities to seek continual learning and growth over these years. In year 2006 and 2007, I was involved as a resource person in the implementation of the Chinese Language curriculum. During these 2 years, I conducted sharing sessions and facilitated workshops for Primary School Chinese Language teachers in preparation for this implementation. In year 2014 and 2015, I was also a member of the Primary Chinese Language Syllabus Working Committee, working closely with the Curriculum Planning and Development Division for the 2015 Primary 1 & 2 new instructional materials. My involvement in the implementation of the Chinese Language curriculum in different phases had given me new insights and enriched my learning journey as an education practitioner.
It is my desire being an educator, as well as a leader, to inspire and help students and teachers develop to their fullest potential and seek continual self-improvement with sound moral values.
As we know, early childhood is a critical phase for children to develop their Mother Tongue Language skills and a love for the language and its culture. Hence in order to give every student in Oasis Primary school a strong start in learning Mother Tongue Language, I will be leading my team of dynamic teachers to implement programs to engage students in meaningful literacy activities with purposeful instruction such as Speech and Drama and Reading Program, so as to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
