School Rules

Attire and Appearance

1. School Uniform

  • Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed. This includes Saturdays and school holidays. They must come to school in white canvas shoes. Other forms of footwear are not allowed.


2. Student’s Name Tag

    • The student’s name tag must be sewn on securely.

3. Shoes and Socks

    • White canvas shoes and white socks are to be worn.
    • OPS socks (supplied by our school uniform supplier) are optional.
    • Students are not allowed to wear track shoes/ sport socks bearing logos.
    • Students are not allowed to wear ankle socks.

4. Hair

    • Hair should be kept neat and simply styled.

Girls' Hairstyles

    • Hair must not be tinted, gelled or dyed.
    • Short hair: length of hair must be above the shoulder. Hair must not touch eyebrows.
    • Long fringe must be neatly clipped.
    • Long hair must be neatly tied.
    • Hair bands or ribbons must be in black or dark blue.


Boys' Hairstyles/ Facial Hair

    • Hair must not be tinted, gelled or dyed.
    • Fringe must be short and not touch the eyebrow.
    • Hair must not touch the ears.
    • Hair must not touch the collar and must have a sloped or tapered cut.
    • No patterns/ designs are allowed.
    • Face must be clean-shaven. No facial hair (moustache, beard or sideburn) is allowed.


5. Fingernails

    • Fingernails should be kept short and clean. No nail polish whether coloured or transparent is allowed.

6. Earrings/ rings

    • Only a pair of simple gold or silver ear-studs are allowed.
    • Friendship bands and rings are not allowed.
    • No other accessories are allowed.



7. Attendance and Punctuality

    • All students are expected to be punctual for school. They must be seated in the assembly area by 7.40 a.m. for silent reading.
    • Students will be considered late for school if he/ she is not present in the assembly area by 7.40 a.m.
    • All students must attend school regularly. Skipping classes and truancy are not allowed.
    • Attendance at the Flag Raising and Pledge-Taking Ceremony is compulsory for all students.
    • Students who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students will take the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.
    • Students are to be punctual for all lessons and activities.

8. Assignments

    • Assignments are to be handed in on time.

9. Permission Tags

    • Students are not allowed to leave the classroom without their teacher’s approval.
    • Permission tags are to be worn when leaving the classroom.

10. School Property

    • Vandalizing the school property is a serious offence.

11. Appropriate Conduct

    • Students are expected to develop self-discipline and good manners.
    • Students are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours.
    • Students are not allowed to run and shout in the school premises.
    • Students are not allowed to stay in the classroom during recess unless a teacher is present.
    • Students must:

    • Queue up in an orderly manner when ordering food.
    • Return all eating utensils at the designated places.
    • Consume all food and drinks in the canteen.
    • Keep the school premises clean.
    • Walk on the left side.
    • Walk silently and orderly along the corridor.
    • Obey and respect all teachers, support staff, class & student leaders and parents.
    • Behave well and be courteous in and outside the school premises.

12. Students are not allowed to bring the following items to school:

    • Hand-held games
    • Card games
    • MP3 players
    • Metal rulers
    • Laser pointers
    • Sharp-pointed objects
    • Pen-knife
    • Matches/ lighters
    • Mobile phones
    • Items that are considered dangerous or inappropriate in school

13. All students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. 

  • They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.
